The Ice Horse Suspensory/Full Tendon Wrap was developed for horses requiring targeted cold therapy over a larger area of the lower leg. While standard tendon wraps primarily work around the cannon bone, this wrap also covers the zone around the fetlock and pastern. This makes it particularly suitable when you want to specifically cool not only the tendons, but also the suspensory region and the entire lower leg.

The wrap runs from just below the knee along the entire cannon bone to around the fetlock and pastern. This makes it interesting for sport horses, horses in intensive training, and horses recovering under supervision from problems with tendons, ligaments, or the deep flexor tendon.

The wraps come with reusable Cold Capsule Inserts. These inserts are placed in the freezer beforehand and then inserted into the wrap. They mold to the horse's leg and provide targeted cooling combined with even compression. According to Ice Horse, the inserts provide therapeutic cooling for more than two hours.

The Suspensory/Full Tendon Wraps are suitable for both front and hind legs and are sold in pairs.

Why choose the Ice Horse Suspensory/Full Tendon Wrap?

For some horses, cooling only the cannon bone is not sufficient. When the fetlock, pastern, deep flexor tendon, or suspensory region requires extra attention, a wrap with more coverage is much more practical than a standard leg wrap.

This wrap is designed to better enclose the entire lower leg. The Cold Capsule Inserts stay in place within the wrap, eliminating the need for loose ice packs or wet cloths. This makes the treatment simpler, more stable, and more repeatable within a daily recovery routine.

For sport stables, rehabilitation horses, and horses subjected to heavy workloads, this is a useful product to have ready in the stable or competition cupboard.

Suitable for

The Ice Horse Suspensory/Full Tendon Wrap is suitable for:

  • Targeted cold therapy of the long bone, tendons, fetlock, and pastern joint
  • Support for the lower leg after training, a match, or transport
  • horses in recovery or rehabilitation guidance
  • use for forelegs and hindlegs

Benefits

  • Covers a larger part of the lower leg than standard tendon wraps
  • Combines targeted cooling with even compression
  • Includes reusable Cold Capsule Inserts
  • Suitable for front and hind legs
  • EZY Peel Velcro fasteners for practical application and removal

Use

Place the Cold Capsule Inserts in the freezer for a few hours beforehand.

Place the frozen inserts into the Suspensory/Full Tendon Wraps. Apply the wrap starting just below the knee and ensure that the cannon bone, fetlock, and pastern are properly covered. Close the Velcro straps securely enough so that the wrap stays in place, but do not pull unnecessarily tight.

During use, regularly check that the wrap stays in place and that your horse remains comfortable. Always use cold therapy under supervision and do not leave the wraps on longer than necessary.

After use, the inserts can be placed back in the freezer. They can also be refrozen in the wraps when practical.

How do I maintain my wraps?

Clean the wraps with a damp cloth if necessary and let them dry thoroughly before storing them. Remove hair, sand, and dirt around the Velcro closures so that they stay closed properly.

Please note!

Cold therapy is a tool in sports care, leg care, and recovery management. Always consult a veterinarian in case of a clear injury, swelling, pain, lameness, tendon problems, or if in doubt.

Use these wraps for suspensory problems, deep flexor tendon problems, or rehabilitation, preferably in consultation with a veterinarian, therapist, or treating professional.

Check that the wraps, fasteners, and inserts are still in good condition before each use. Do not use the product if inserts are leaking or if the wrap is damaged.
