The Ice Horse Pro Therapy Laminitis Boots are offered per pair and are available in Small, Medium en Large.
The Ice Horse Pro Therapy Laminitis Boots have been developed for horses requiring intensive and targeted cold therapy around the hooves. The boots are particularly practical for horses whose hooves need to be cooled for extended periods, for example in support of laminitis or hoof inflammation management, sensitive hooves, warm hooves, or painful feet.
The tri-fold design encloses the hoof from the pastern and fetlock zones to the toe. This ensures that cold is not applied only at the bottom or on one side, but is distributed all around the hoof. The combination of cold therapy and compression helps to provide targeted support to the hoof, coronary band, and surrounding zones within a well-thought-out care or rehabilitation routine.
The boots are used with reusable Cold Capsule Inserts. These inserts are placed in the freezer beforehand and, according to Ice Horse, remain cold for more than two hours. An important advantage is that the inserts can be replaced without completely removing the boots from the hooves. This makes continuous cold therapy much simpler than with buckets of ice water, loose ice packs, or wet cloths.
The anti-slip silicone rubber sole provides grip, comfort, and support. The sole can be used with a pad or wedge of your choice, depending on the situation and the advice of the veterinarian or hoof specialist. Elasticized straps help keep the boots snug around the foot, while the Velcro closures ensure a secure and practical fastening.
Why choose the Ice Horse Pro Therapy Laminitis Boots?
Laminitis and sensitive hooves often require prompt, targeted, and repeatable support. Buckets of ice water can be useful in theory, but are often troublesome in practice: horses step out of them, the water heats up, the ice melts, and prolonged, controlled cooling is difficult to sustain.
The Ice Horse Pro Therapy Laminitis Boots make hoof cooling more practical and repeatable. The Cold Capsule Inserts remain in place inside the boots and can be replaced without completely removing the boots. This allows you to better control the cooling and continue it more easily when prolonged cold therapy is required.
The combination of a wrap-around design, anti-slip sole, and reusable inserts makes these boots suitable for the stable, clinic, transport, and rehabilitation support. In cases of laminitis, acute pain, lameness, or clear inflammation, guidance by a veterinarian or hoof specialist remains necessary at all times.

Use
Place the Cold Capsule Inserts in the freezer for a few hours beforehand.
Place the frozen inserts in the Pro Therapy Laminitis Boots and put the boots on around the hooves. Check that the inserts are correctly positioned and that the boots fit snugly around the hoof, coronary band, and pastern/fetlock zone.
Fasten the boots with the Velcro closures and elasticized straps. The closures must be tight enough to keep the boots in place, but without applying unnecessary pressure. Regularly check that your horse remains comfortable and that the boots stay in place correctly.
When the inserts are no longer sufficiently cold, they can be replaced without completely removing the boots from the hooves. Place used inserts back in the freezer so they are ready for their next use.
Always use cold therapy under supervision. In case of laminitis, pain, clear inflammation, lameness, or if in doubt, preferably use this product in consultation with a veterinarian or hoof specialist.
How do I maintain my boots?
Clean the boots after use with a damp cloth or rinse away dirt if necessary. Let the boots dry thoroughly before storing them. Remove sand, straw, hair, and dirt around the fastenings so that they continue to function properly.
Please note!
Cold therapy is an aid in hoof care, sports care, and rehabilitation guidance. The product does not replace a diagnosis or treatment by a veterinarian.
Check before each use whether the boots, soles, fastenings, straps, and inserts are still in good condition. Do not use the product if inserts are leaking or if the boots are damaged.
