Six ways to use the Gentle Bridle
1. Reins on the bit
Used as a classic bridle with chin strap. Rein aids are softer as some pressure is transferred from the bit to the bridge of the nose, a less sensitive area. The chin strap improves stability without adding pressure.
2. Reins on the noseband
Completely relieves the mouth and bit. Ideal for young or sensitive horses, bit introduction, mouth injuries, or riders with an unsteady hand. Often helps reduce tension and mouth activity.
3. Double reins
Rein aids are shared between bit and noseband, greatly reducing pressure on the mouth, tongue, teeth, and cheeks. Perfect for bit training, addressing mouth issues, or refining communication. Reins can be used together or alternated.
4. Without noseband
The noseband can be removed entirely. The throatlatch keeps the bridle secure—ideal for horses that become unsettled with a noseband.
5. Bitless
Use the bridle bitless by removing the cheekpieces and stabilizing with the chin strap. Attach reins to the noseband rings for direct, steady contact on the upper jaw.
6. Lunging option
The noseband rings also allow easy lunging: attach the line to the inside ring for correct positioning.
Tip: For added comfort and protection, use Kaptoom noseband padding under the noseband.
