The Ice Horse Tendon Wraps have been developed for targeted cold therapy around the tendons, ligaments, and cannon bone of the horse. They combine cooling with even compression, making them particularly practical after training, competition, transport, or for horses requiring extra support in their recovery management.

The wraps are used with reusable Cold Inserts. These inserts are placed in the freezer beforehand and then inserted into the wrap. Thanks to the anatomical fit, the inserts conform snugly around the horse's leg, ensuring the cooling is evenly distributed across the area around the tendons and ligaments.

Ice Horse states that the inserts provide therapeutic cooling for more than two hours. This makes these wraps practical for sport horses, horses in intensive training, and horses that develop heat or strain in the lower legs after exertion.

The wraps are made from breathable non-neoprene fabric and feature special EZY Peel Velcro closures. This allows them to be applied securely, but also easily removed without pulling hard on the closures.

Use

Place the Cold Inserts in the freezer for a few hours beforehand.

Place the frozen inserts in the Tendon Wraps and apply the wrap around your horse's lower leg. Ensure the inserts are properly positioned around the area you wish to cool. Close the Velcro straps securely enough so the wrap stays in place, but do not pull unnecessarily tight.

During use, regularly check that the wrap stays in place and that your horse remains comfortable. Always use cold therapy under supervision and do not leave the wraps on longer than necessary.

After use, the inserts can be placed back in the freezer. They can also be refrozen in the wraps when practical.

How do I maintain my wraps?

Clean the wraps with a damp cloth if necessary and let them dry thoroughly before storing them. Remove hair, sand, and dirt around the Velcro closures so that they stay closed properly.
